Dr. George Hall received his Bachelor of Science degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 1967. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1971 from the University of Houston.
After completing optometry school, Dr. Hall established a practive in Anchorage, Alaska in 1971. There he provided vision care to much of the native population of western Alaska for 10 years. Dr. Hall lived with his wife and two children in Anchorage until 1981, when he relocated to Texas to start a practice in the Clear Lake area of Houston.
Early in 1981, NASA asked him to provide vision care for the astronaut corps, and he did so until 1996. During this period, he conducted an extensive study about wearing contact lenses in orbit. These studies lead to the rewriting of the flight standards for all military pilots.
